Next Step
Well, it’s been a while since the last post but things have been busy! I recently accepted a new position as the Music Coordinator at Generations Church in Southport, NC. It’s pretty crazy how it all unfolded.
In March, Kristen and I were exploring moving back to the Raleigh or Charlotte area because it appeared like we had served our purpose in Wilmington. Frustrated one Friday afternoon, I was sitting on the couch combing through local jobs online. Deep into the search, I found a two sentence add from a dude named Keith at Generations that basically said, “Looking for musicians at a modern church in the Southport area. Contact Keith if you are interested.” Figuring I had nothing to lose, I shot Keith a quick email and attached my resume.
Within an hour, my phone rang, and low and behold it was Keith. He later told me that he was sitting at his desk and praying that God would send them a worship leader. That’s when the “ding” from my email rang in his inbox. God is good! After a month of meeting, praying, and leading worship with the team; it is evident that my next step is with Generations Church.
So, if you live or are planning to vacation in the Southport area this summer, come see me at Generations!
i am so excited for you guys! i know you will do great, and i know God’s hand is guiding your family’s every step. Let me know if you need or want any worship resources (song charts, audition forms/letters, etc). we have a HUGE library as you know. holler.
Awesome! It’s cool to hear the “back story” of how it all went down. We’re grateful to have you man. We’re looking forward to serving Christ along with you and Kristin! Welcome to GC!
CONGRATULATIONS! Man I am so happy that for you and I hope God continues to pour blessings on both you and Kristin. i love you Dave, and I praise God for every conversation we ever had, because wether you know it or not you molded what it was to be a true man of God. Thank you so much for the time that you poured into my life; I stil remember talking to you one night at camp two years ago. i was broken and you didn’t comfort me with words of this world, instead you pointed me to God. You and your family are always in my prayers!
